Background:- Compartive study of satellite clinics, screening two different ethnic populations( African American/Hispanic), Dr. Ather and Dr. Jamal who worked in two separate clinics of Cook County have completed a research project as part of their graduation requirement and compared the incidence of kidney failure in two different groups of population with underlying uncontrolled DM.
Outcome: The incidence of kidney failure was alarmingly high with A1C>9 in the AA group when compared to Hispanic population. Patients in both the groups had high blood pressure as risk factor.
